Yea this one was about $30 plus shipping. Where do you get the one that Paul made from? I would like to check that out.

I have 4 sima IR illuminators, although I opted for the smaller ones that only have 9 lights. You can get them for about 30 bucks online now. (I bought 3 for 95 including shipping).
The extra light does clear things up, and you can obviously turn more than one on if you need anymore light. The thing I like about the Version of sima lights you bought is you can connect them together when you get more than one, the down fall about sima lights is the amount of time you can use them when fully charged.(only about an hour).
It does take a few hours to recharge them as well. Paul from Creepy Hollow Ghost Gear just invented a IR illuminator with 4 very big IR bulbs that runs on a 9 volt battery for about 9 hours. It costs around 30 bucks as well, but it's a good investment considering you don't spend time recharging during investigations, and it's pretty bright.

Thanks for the info... I guess we'll be getting one of those soon. It did make a world of difference. and it's definately worth the $$$$.

Just to let you know it was $45 with shipping. One thing to note though, the battery in it only last about an hour. Which really is about normal for this type of thing. After an hour you have to charge it for 2-3 hours. Unfortunately you also cannot change the battery. It's one of those batteries you charge only. So it's a good idea to buy more than one and have a spare on hand, as well as have other video devices. (Such as the IR w/dvr setup.) This is good for limited mobile video recording.
